Firstly, Happy New Years!

With 2025 almost 2 months in, I wanted to chat about some upcoming content and music I have planned for this year.. First and foremost, I have a new album coming out from my VicMod series. This will be the second and final release from this series of albums. In a similar vein it is a modular synth album just like the first album, but a different performance so it will sound a bit different. I am currently working on the post production for this album and should have it released in the coming month. I am looking for constructive criticism for both this album and the first VicMod album. Once the new album is released I will have a form opened up for anyone to give me their thoughts on the albums. With one album released and a second in post production; I am also happy to say that I am already working on my third album. In this third album, I am looking to do something a bit more “produced” unlike VicMod. What I mean by this is an album that is not 100% a performance with minor post production work after the creation, but instead, I plan on creating an album of music that is more intentional in its overall design and has distinct pieces of music for each track. This doesn’t mean I will not be working on any more performance based albums or music projects. This goes to my next point, more Youtube videos. I have already started recording and editing videos for my Youtube channel with one of the primary video series being jam sessions. Outside of the jam session video series, there will be patching videos, general discussion videos, and DIY synth/modular videos. Let me give a bit more context to the other 3 types of videos.

  • Patching Video: These will be videos of a performance or sound design that I will speak over and explain what exactly I am doing in the patch.

  • General Discussion Videos: These videos will be talking head videos, where I will just record myself talking about a topic. This can be anything from sound design, music theory, feelings about products, recent research I am doing, etc and will be more for educational purposes. I will either record myself at my desk or put my voice over some B footage like a synth performance or video recordings I do out in the world.

  • DIY Synth/Modular Videos: These will be the most complicated or time consuming videos. These will go through a circuit and housing build that I recently made and discuss the circuit and the applications of that circuit as it applies to sound making. An example of these kinds of videos will be talking about my first 3 circuits I built for my synth, the multi, attenuators, and multi switch. I plan to have an open source github page with schematics, BOMs, and STL files (for 3d printing the panels) for anyone to make these circuits.

My third point, other projects I am working on. I am working on 3d modeling and visual art chops. With 3D modeling I am working on becoming more proficient in design and modeling printables for my music technology, for example synth housings and synth panels which will be open for everyone to download on the future Github that will be live soon. Something a bit different from the majority of this post is visual art. I have dabbled in creating visual art, be it on canvas and digitally, and an example of this is the cover art for my first album, VicMod. I do not know how I will be distributing standalone images and if I will be selling physical prints.

An aside from the videos I want to make, I have started a Patreon that I am planning on posting very regularly. I have already posted several edits of from some synth jams I did in “Jamuary.” I have been practicing, jamming, and recording regularly every week. I am trying to do this everyday or every other day, and I will be posting these on my Patreon regularly. Also, all my videos will be posted on Patreon before I push them on to Youtube as “early access” and there will be a direct line to chat with me.
